Dear Parent/Carer
The information we have received so far about how Ofqual will award qualifications has already been sent to you. At this stage we are still waiting further details from the Department for Education on how GCSE grades are to be determined. An announcement is expected next week and we will of course be in touch with more information about what this means for the Year 11 students as soon as possible after this.
We believe schools will be asked to submit evidence for each student, and that there may also be an opportunity for students to sit an exam at a later date. However, none of this has yet been confirmed, and no detail has been provided.
In the meantime, we are setting work related to the GCSE specifications, including revision activities, to ensure the students are continuing to engage with the GCSE content for each subject. They will then be in the best position to respond to whatever is required.
This is also an opportunity for students to think about the courses they are planning to take next year. Therefore, reviewing the GCSE content for these subjects would be beneficial for future study.
As soon as we receive further guidance from Ofqual and the Department for Education we will contact you.
Best wishes
Mrs Badesha
