Dear Parents and Carers

I am writing to inform you that we have been made aware of a further Crofton Student in Year 10 who has tested positive for COVID 19. Although the students are no longer in school we know that you may find this concerning. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and pass on advice from Public Health England on how to support your child, which has been included at the end of this letter. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) will receive an email as soon as possible informing them that their child must stay at home for the required self-isolation period. Therefore, please regularly check the email account for the address you have supplied to the school over the weekend for any further contact we may need to make with you individually. You do not need to take any further action unless we contact you again directly, this letter is just for information. We have been assured by Public Health England that no further actions are required by the school.

Further information is available at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ and on the school website at https://www.croftonschool.co.uk/coronavirus . We will of course update you should there be any further developments.

May I also remind you that student positive Cvoid-19 test results should be reported via the usual school contact email school@croftonschool.co.uk as this will be monitored daily until 23 December, but you only need to get in touch with us if;

a) you receive a positive test result for your child up to and including Wednesday 23 December and

b) your child developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school.

Should we need to inform parents of any further positive tests, we will do so via the email and website up to and including 23 December. In all other situations over the holidays, you should get in touch directly with NHS Test and Trace by calling 119.

Yours faithfully

Mr S Harrison

Headteacher
