As you may be aware Crofton usually hold a number of non-school uniform days and an annual charity week in order to support local and national charities. I am sure that you will also be aware that many charities are struggling due to the current pandemic. At Crofton one of our values is Kindness and we want to do as much as we can to support the charities.
This year we are supporting 3 charities:
Alice’s Arc
We are also pleased to support Alice’s Arc a charity striving to support research into childhood cancer. As many of you will be aware this is something very close to the hearts of our school community. We will be selling yellow ribbons throughout the week to support this charity.
Canine Partners
Some of you will be aware that several years ago we sponsored our first canine partner dog which we called Crofton, and we are pleased to say that he has been housed with a gentleman called Cameron. He has made a massive difference to Cameron’s life and we are now on our way to sponsoring our second dog.
Winter Streets Project Our third charity is the Winter Streets Project, set up by a previous student, Louise. The charity gives survival bags to people living on the streets in London and Hampshire. We are asking for donations of toiletries, hats, or gloves during charity week.
We are also holding an Open Mic music event on Tuesday 19 October, all donations received on the night will go to the charities.
We also have a non-school uniform day on Friday 22 October. We would normally ask students to bring in £1/£2 for each non-school uniform day, but as you know we are unable to collect cash at this time and will not be able to do so for at least the next few months. We are therefore asking parents to pay £5 in one payment for all 5 days. The amount can be paid on ScoPay, whenever you have the funds to do so.
Future planned non-school uniform days:
Friday 22 October (£2 Charity week)
Thursday 9 December (£1)
Friday 1 April (£1)
Friday 15 July (£1)
The money for the first date will be split between two charities, Canine Partners and Alice’s Arc. It is hoped that we will be able to give each charity £500. We will let you know after the event how much we have raised.
Thank you for your continued support.
