Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear Parent/ Carer

Crofton School understand that parents are worried about Coronavirus. We just wanted to assure you that the school continues to closely monitor the situation and will inform parents if the situation changes. In the meantime we are following advice from PHE, NHS and DfE regarding what to do. On current advice there is no need for our school to take any action at this time, and lessons and other activities will continue as normal.

You can follow the publicly available health guidance www.nhs.uk/coronavirus. In addition the Department for Education has set up a general helpline for parents should you have any queries or concerns about the virus:

DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION CORONAVIRUS HELPLINE 0800 046 8687 available from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday or at DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that there are simple measures we can all take to reduce the spread of infections, including Coronavirus.

1. Wash your hands often with soap and water, for a minimum of 20 seconds especially after using public transport.

2. If soap and water is unavailable, use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

4. Catch your cough or sneeze in a tissue. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

Kind regards,

Crofton School
