One of the joys of being a History teacher is when students tell us about their family history. One student recently shared that she is related to Henry Ford, and another that one of his relatives had been a bodyguard of Tsar Nicholas! Another student recently brought in a beautiful collection of letters that her great, great grandfather had sent home from the front-line trenches in France.
It made me think about how many other stories are out there, and how nice it would be to collect some of them. So, we are launching Crofton School’s own ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ and will be asking students to write down stories from their own families. Stories of courage, joy, sacrifice, resilience, or just plain odd! - everyone has a tale to tell, and we would love to hear them.
Please encourage your child to submit their story by Friday 8th April. There will be a box in the LRC and in Resources for them to submit their stories. They can also be emailed to:
resources@croftonschool.co.uk.
