Numbers continue to grow in the Crofton Warhammer Club with the recent addition of recruits from Year 7.
Warhammer is a tactical table-top game where armies of models are collected, painted and pitted against one-another using a dice-based rules system, all set in a fantasy galaxy. The modelling and painting engage the artistic and creative skills of the students whilst the game itself develops the ability to plan ahead and strategize, as well as focusing on the probability-based maths of dice rolling.
The fantasy setting is brought to life through a number of novels and other media available at the club. The club takes new recruits through the basics of building, painting and playing with a handful of models, whilst offering veteran players a venue to pit their armies against one-another or take part in other facets of the hobby as they choose.
A couple of weeks ago, the club was lucky enough to receive the donation of models, paints and rules (pictured) from A Fistful of Dice, Southsea. With the resources supplied by Games Workshop, Portsmouth, this kind gift has enabled Crofton to offer members access to the use of a full army for the first time, in addition to more paints and hobby tools.
A big thank you to A Fistful of Dice and Games Workshop for their support!
The club meets every Friday in M5 from 3:15 - 4:30pm, all welcome!
