Face Coverings Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may be aware, yesterday evening the Government requirement for students to wear face coverings in classrooms was withdrawn, starting today. Therefore, from today students will no longer be required to wear face coverings in classrooms. The guidance for face coverings to be worn in communal areas of the school remains in place, so students must continue to wear them in all indoor spaces other than classrooms, during lesson changeovers and when arriving to and leaving school, unless exempt. Any student may continue to wear a face covering in the classroom if they wish to. Our other safety measures remain unchanged.

Please be reassured that positive case numbers in our school remain at the same levels seen last term and we have so far been able to minimise the disruption to students caused by staff absences.

At the time of writing we are awaiting fully updated government guidance on the changes announced yesterday, so will review this when it is published and inform you when and if any other significant changes to our safety measures are needed.

Your faithfully

Mr S Harrison
