Dear Parent/Guardian,
The government have introduced a scheme that temporarily increases data allowances for mobile phone users on certain networks. This is so that children and young people can access remote education if their face-to-face education is disrupted. https://get-help-with-tech.education.gov.uk/about-increasing-mobile-data
Who can get help? Schools, trusts and local authorities can request mobile data increases for children and young people who meet all 3 of the following criteria:
do not have fixed broadband at home
cannot afford additional data for their devices
are experiencing disruption to their face-to-face education.
Children with access to a mobile phone on one of the following networks might be able to benefit, although other providers may join the scheme at a later stage:
Three
SMARTY
Virgin Mobile
EE
Tesco Mobile
Sky Mobile
O2
If you feel that you may qualify for this scheme, please contact the school via school@croftonschool.co.uk with the name and year group of your child/children. One of our members of staff will call you to collect the relevant information, check that you understand the Department of Education privacy policy and send your details to them to see if you will be able to take advantage of this offer.
Please see the link to the privacy policy https://get-help-with-tech.education.gov.uk/increasing-mobile- data/privacy-notice.
Yours sincerely , Mrs Laura Bryant
