Last week a group of nine Year 10 students attended assemblies informing each year group about an opportunity to become part of our Student Leadership groups.
Being part of a Student Leadership group will enable student voices to be heard regarding various types of issues throughout the school. So far, there has been a lot of positive feedback from different students across all year groups which is very encouraging.The different groups include:
Sports > This group is for our budding sports superstars and those that want to offer support to our link schools through workshops and help at sports days.
Digital and Media > Enabling students to become journalists and promote good use of social media.
Health and Wellbeing > Offering opportunities to students to influence what we do around this important area.
Environment > This is such a big issue in our community, it is important to let students influence our world.
Trips and Opportunities > Allows students to organise bigger trips as well as local opportunities.
Education > In this group, students might work alongside our governors as part of a focused feedback group or offer suggestions about our PDL offer.
If any students would like to be involved in this project, they should talk to their tutor about holding an election in tutor time. Each tutor is asked to organise a vote so that two students join one of the different Student Leadership groups. Any year group can get involved and it is a good way to contribute to different aspects of school life.
