Dear Year 7 Parents and Carers,
We are really looking forward to welcoming Year 7s back to school on Thursday 11 March 2021. I just wanted to briefly write to let you know how successful our testing of Years 8 to 11 has been so far, and also provide some brief reminders and further information ahead of Thursday.
We have carried out nearly 2000 tests since last Thursday, and you will have received a separate communication informing you of arrangements for Year 7 testing tomorrow (Wednesday 10 March). Parents will only receive notification of a test result if it is positive, so if you do not receive a notification the result was negative. I am pleased to report there have been no positive cases so far.
Our testing team have done a great job setting up and running this, and I am sure you will want to join me in thanking them. Attendance has been excellent, as has the students’ engagement in the testing process. I really appreciate the support of parents in ensuring the consent forms are completed, and thank you in advance for the students arriving on time tomorrow. Year 7s are the only students being tested tomorrow, to ensure we have plenty of time to guide them through the process. They will return home as soon as their test is completed.
As previously communicated in my letter on 3 March, all Year 7 students will be in school from Thursday 11 March onwards, please refer back to this letter for full details of our return plans. We are aware that many students will be unfamiliar with their timetable and rooms, so we will provide them with some additional help at the start of the day. They will need to report to the tennis courts on arrival at 8.35am, where they will be collected by their Period 1 teacher. They will be issued with a copy of their timetable and a new lanyard if required. Staff will ensure any changes since the Autumn term are explained.
